Women's health advocate and Support Network Coordinator, WomenHeart

Marcia Kritzler-Egeland is a heart attack survivor, health educator, advocate, and WomenHeart Champion. As a WomenHeart Support Network Coordinator for six years, she provides peer-to-peer support, education, and tools to women at risk for or living with heart disease in her community. She is passionate about helping women ask their providers the right questions and seek the best available support services and treatment. Ms. Kritzler-Egeland knows the importance of being able to talk with someone who has been there and the difference it can make when patients can take charge of their health. As a former educator, her mission is to empower women through knowledge and support to overcome the fear and isolation that can occur after a heart attack. Ms. Kritzler-Egeland is a 2016 graduate of the Science & Leadership Symposium at the Mayo Clinic and holds a BA from American University and a Master of Education degree from Lesley University.
